Domain/email spoofing refers to the illegal use of someone else's domain name as the sender's address or reply-to address in 
emails. You'll know that your domain has been spoofed if you're receiving a lot of undeliverable messages that seems to have 
come from your domain but which you did not send.

The following are some of the examples how spoofing is done

1. Using email program(like Outlook or Outlook Express etc.) or software with different reply to email address. In this case, 
if any email is bounced, it will go to reply to address which the sender/spammer specified.

To stop this, some of the web hosting providers/email providers using SPF record(Sender Policy Framework) in their domain DNS 
settings. This is to specify a range of IP addresses from
 which the from emails can be taken with that domain name. However 
as it is not standard, some providers are not following it. SPF Details

Some of the providers uses Reverse DNS entry in their domain DNS records for the mail exchange(MX) server. Reverse DNS turns

2. Using some scripts(webbased), I can provide some of them here.

CGI/PERL or PHP scripts in websites.  Generally most of the websites will have contact us forms/mailto scripts, spammers misuse
the code if proper permissions were not set( the permissions can be set in Unix/Linux ex 755 read and execute etc).
 
3. Viruses  In this case virus can send email to random email addresses using address book. It can use forged headers. It means
using From and To fields random.
  
In the third case..we suggest you to scan your computer with latest Anti Virus and also ask your friends to scan their computer
who save your email address in their address book.
